Fire Department
The firefighting professionals and staff of the Turlock Fire Department (TFD) are proud to serve the citizens of the City of Turlock in Stanislaus County. Turlock is geographically located in the center of the San Joaquin Valley of California. It is the second largest City in Stanislaus County and is located along the Highway 99 corridor.

Responding to approximately 7,000 calls for service each year (from 4 Fire Stations), TFD is a high-performance fire department. In terms of critical infrastructure, TFD is the emergency service provider for a number of high-hazard occupancies, including commercial processing facilities; 1 hospital with an emergency department; the Stanislaus County Fair Grounds; and California State University Stanislaus, with a student population of more than 9,000 on a 228-acre campus.

Turlock firefighters completed the “Murph” challenge this morning. The Murph is a 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and ended with another 1 mile run. The “Murph” challenge honors the sacrifice and service of fallen Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy.

The use of a fire extinguisher in the hands of a trained person can be a life and/or property saving tool. Believe it or not, a majority of people have not had fire extinguisher training and may not even know how or when to use one. The attached short video explains how to properly use the P.A.S.S. method for proper, effective fire extinguisher usage.

This morning, at approximately 9:25 am all Turlock Fire units responded to the report of a structure fire in the 1600 block of Geer Rd. First arriving crews found a fire on the first floor of the home that had extended into the second story. Crews brought the fire under control within 30 minutes

Early this morning at approximately 2:09 am all Turlock Fire units responded to the report of a structure fire in the 1500 block of N Denair Ave. First arriving crews found a garage fire that had extended into the living area of the apartment. Crews brought the fire under control within 30 minutes.

Yesterday evening, Turlock Fire Department responded to an animal rescue for a cat stuck in a tree. When units arrived they located the cat that had been up there for some time. Crews were able to access the cat approximately 50 feet up a tree and bring it down safely. The cat was reunited with its owners.

Yesterday, the Turlock Fire Department participated in Public Safety Pride Time and Lunch Tabling Event @Pitmanpride. Chief Bickle and staff were on hand to talk to students about a career in the fire service.
