PRESS RELEASE: Suspect Arrested for Sexual Assault with a Minor
On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at approximately 11:14 a.m., Investigators with the Turlock Police Department Special Investigations Unit (SIU) arrested 26-year old Christian Alberto Alvarado at his Modesto home in connection with an April 17, 2022, sexual assault investigation.
During this investigation, officers learned that the 16-year old, female victim had been sexually assaulted by Alvarado at a Turlock motel, which occurred several days before coming forward.
The officer conducting the initial investigation was able to gather enough evidence of this crime to make the arrest, however, the whereabouts of Alvarado were not known at that time.
Shortly after the arrest of Alvarado yesterday morning, SIU Investigators conducted an interview then booked him at the Stanislaus County Jail. Alvarado was booked for one felony charge of oral copulation with a person under 18 years of age.
“We applaud the courage of the young woman who came forward to report this, “said Lieutenant Neil Cervenka. “She will never know how many other crimes this may prevent.”
Through the course of the investigation, information was discovered that there may be additional victims who have not come forward. The Turlock Police Department urges anyone who has been a victim involving Alvarado, or any other victims of sexual assault or other crimes, to file a report with your local authorities.
The Turlock Police Department asks that anyone with information regarding this investigation to call Officer Nathan Urban at (209) 668-6571. You can also contact the Turlock Police Department’s Tip Line at (209) 668-5550 extension 6780 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
