Press Release
Tuesday, August 26, 2025In an abundance of transparency, the City of Turlock is releasing a letter that Mayor Amy Bublak has sent to Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) regarding the utility's construction project on Geer Road.
This letter represents the next step in the City's effort to communicate with PG&E after prior discussions with the company's staff did not result in adjustments to the current construction schedule.Mayor Bublak has requested that PG&E revise its work hours from daytime (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) to an evening schedule, in order to reduce significant disruptions for residents, businesses, and commuters.
The Mayor has also requested that clear signage be installed at the project sites to indicate that the work is a PG&E project, not a City of Turlock project, so that the public can accurately understand responsibility for the construction impacts.
“Our community deserves solutions that balance the need for infrastructure improvements with the everyday realities of traffic, business, and quality of life,” said Mayor Bublak. “We will continue to work toward an approach that best serves Turlock residents and business owners.”
The City encourages members of the Turlock community who share these concerns to write their own requests to PG&E and ask the company to reconsider its construction schedule.
