Calling All Turlock Community Members!!

The City of Turlock invites community members to participate in a mask making contest. This is an opportunity to be creative and have a little fun!
The City’s goal with the contest is to promote health and encourage community involvement. Wearing a face covering is not a substitute for physical distancing and hand washing. However, wearing one will help stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect citizens.
This is intended to be a fun family friendly activity. Not sure how to make a mask? No worries! Visit these websites for more information:
cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Face-Coverings-Guidance.aspx
cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cloth-face-cover.html
The rules are simple!
1) Make a cloth face covering (be as creative as you can!)
2) Post your picture on Instagram or Facebook and use #turlockmakeamask

Winners will be chosen by the Mayor and City Council on 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7 and 5/14. One winner will be chosen each week and will have a dinner for six delivered to their front door from a local restaurant of the winner’s choice!
So, join the fun, be creative and post those pictures!
Still have questions? Please call Turlock Parks, Recreation & Public Facilities at (209) 668-5594.
Come on all Turlockians, get out there and show us what your masks are made of!
The City of Turlock would like to remind everyone of the Governor’s Order to “Stay Home”, wash your hands and practice social distancing!!
This “Make a Mask contest” is to engage the community and have a little family fun. Making these masks does promote people taking safety precautions in situations that may not allow for social distancing. However, the program is not intended to encourage members of the community to seek out or demand medical grade respirators, such as N95 and surgical masks that are critically needed for medical personnel and first responders.
