Adoption Fees

Dogs

The fee to adopt a dog varies by the weight and age of the dog. The fee includes the city license, rabies vaccination, microchip, first DHPP vaccination, and spay/neuter surgery. Additional fees may be added for overweight dogs, pregnant dogs, in heat, or dogs with Cryptorchidism. If a dog has had extensive medical treatment in order to make it adoptable, the fees will be added when applicable.

Cats

The fee to adopt a cat caries by the weight and age of the cat. The fee includes microchip and spay/neuter fee.

Free to Senior (over 65 years) or Veteran

The shelter will identify animals for this program. Subject to availability.

Reduced Adoption Fees

Animals that have current vaccines, micro chipped, spayed/neutered upon entry; will be reduced in cost as applicable.

Special Promotions

The shelter may offer special promotions during the year to promote pet adoption.

All adoptions include a gift bag with treats and valuable information regarding pet care. Most also include gift cards from local veterinarians for additional services. A free health certificate is included for all adoptions from our local veterinarian offices.

The Turlock Animal Shelter is open to the public for shelter operations from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
