Homelessness In Turlock

The City of Turlock, like so many cities across California and the entire United States, is experiencing the challenges and impacts of homelessness. There are many factors driving homelessness, including mental health, substance abuse, lack of affordable housing, job insecurity, and medical emergencies.

As a result of this crisis, California cities are facing increasingly serious issues associated with threats to public safety, ability to conduct business, and enjoy community benefits such as parks and other community resources. Cities are struggling from insufficient levels of funding, staffing and other resources to address the complexities associated with our unhoused population.

The City of Turlock views homelessness as one of the top priorities, and is working on several approaches, including both short-term and long-term solutions.

This page will include general information and ongoing updates to keep citizens informed, and we appreciate your participation and understanding as we identify solutions and strategies to ensure the best path forward.
